Non Powered Asset Management
SilverStar- a leading developer of Non Powered
Asset Management - has created a unique solution tailored for remote irrigation
system and pump management.
The Challenge:
If a shipping container's status and location are unknown, it becomes impossible
to provide timely and accurate updates to both management and customers alike. Without
knowing each container's status and location, the fleet may be under-utilized
or over-committed, leading to wasted time and resources. Even more, these problems
can be compounded by unauthorized drops and/or lost or missing cargo. Operational
efficiency can be degraded, leading to a reduction in bottom-line profitability.
To ensure optimal performance, each container's location should be carefully monitored.
Unfortunately, current methods for container tracking are often expensive, inefficient,
time-consuming, or error-prone. As a result, many enterprises lose a significant
portion of their fleet value due to abuse, under-utilization, misplacement, or even
theft.
Managing a fleet of out-of-sight shipping containers can be a daunting task - but
SilverStar can help.
The Solution:
SilverStar is a cost-effective wireless container management and monitoring solution
that enables organizations to easily track their shipping containers.
The complete container management solution consists of:
- An SilverStar monitoring unit installed on the container. The monitoring unit includes
a battery to power the unit for period of two years.
- An SilverStar-provided website to deliver Location Reports, History Logs, and other
management info.
In addition to FleetGear, SilverStar also offers asset management for other industrial
solutions such as crane management, refrigerated van management and GPS for automobiles.
All reports and alerts are accessible through a simple web interface. The latest
report from each container is immediately displayed upon login.
- The container management web interface is powerful, intuitive, and easy to use.
- A History Log reports all communications to and from each container.
Container Tracking Features & Benefits:
- Location Reports
The container-mounted remote monitoring unit will automatically send Location reports
on a regularly-scheduled interval. Reports can be delivered either once per day,
or twice per day. The Location Reports lead to increased productivity by allowing
fleet managers to better track and manage their containers.
- Tracking Reports
The SilverStar container management solution retains all Location Reports in its
database. These reports allow users to easily track each container's location over
any period of time. The Container Tracking Reports can improve operations by enhancing
Customer Service, by augmenting Customer Billing operations, and more. The Tracking
Report provides essential information to enable the organization to make fact-based
decisions about managing its out-of-sight shipping containers.
- History Log
All container management communications to and from the remote monitoring unit are
retained in a History Log, which enables users to easily review how each trailer
has been used.
- User Conveniences
The SilverStar container tracking solution includes numerous ease-of-use features
that make it simple to operate. For example, the "Grouping," "Search" and "Sort"
capabilities make it easy to view a fleet of containers; to find and focus upon
a specific container; and to drill-down for details regarding any container’s
current and/or previous locations.
