Many organizations operate small fleets of vehicles to provide deliveries and perform services. However, most currently available fleet vehicle tracking solutions are targeted towards managing large fleets, and are therefore expensive and difficult to operate for small fleet managers. The Solution:
SilverStar fleet vehicle tracking is a wireless solution for managing fleet vehicles. It automatically sends tracking updates every ten minutes whenever the vehicle's engine is on. Each tracking update indicates if the vehicle is in motion or idling. SilverStar fleet vehicle management also monitors the vehicle's performance and can send real-time alert Notifications if any problems occur. The SilverStar solution is web-based and easy to use. The solution consists of:

• A monitoring unit installed inside the vehicle
• An SilverStar -provided website to deliver location reports, fleet vehicle tracking reports, utilization information, maintenance reminders, vehicle history logs, and more.

In addition to SilverStar , SilverStar also offers asset management for other industrial solutions such as crane management, refrigerated van management and GPS for automobiles.

Fleet Vehicle Management Features & Benefits:

• Location and Tracking: SilverStar fleet vehicle tracking reports the vehicle’s location each time its engine is turned ON or OFF and it sends Tracking Updates every ten minutes whenever the vehicle’s engine is ON. Each Tracking Update indicates if the vehicle is in motion or if it is idling. Idle Time Summaries are provided at the conclusion of each trip. Users can view two types of Location information:
  • Current – shows where the vehicles are located NOW
  • Historical – shows where the vehicles have been in the past
• Real-Time Updates: Users can "ping" any vehicle at any time to collect its current Location information and other metrics.
• Jobsite Reporting: Users can specify up to 99 key locations - called "Jobsites" - and ascertain when each vehicle approaches and/or departs each "Jobsite." Examples of "Jobsites" might include customer sites, warehouses and depots jobsite, construction sites, farms or fields service stations, repair facilities, gas stations an office or even a person's home.
• Mileage Reports: SilverStar fleet vehicle management provides mileage reports that can improve maintenance, and reduce costs via more accurate expense reports.
• Maintenance Reminders: Based on the vehicle's mileage, SilverStar can automatically issue "Maintenance Due" reminders as each vehicle approaches its service interval.
• Alert Notifications: If any serious events occur, SilverStar fleet vehicle tracking can send real-time Alert Notifications as text messages to cell phones, and/or as email messages. Examples include:
• Speed Violations - fleet managers can set a speed threshold for each vehicle, and be notified if any vehicle exceeds its threshold.
• Curfew Violations - fleet managers can specify times when a vehicle should not be used. If the vehicle’s engine is turned on during a prohibited time period, a Curfew Violation will be reported. The Curfew Violation can be issued as an Alert Notification, if desired.
• GeoFence Violations – fleet managers can establish a boundary around any Jobsite, and be notified if the vehicle approaches and/or departs from the Jobsite.
• Low Battery – the monitoring unit can issue a Low Battery Alert Notification if the vehicle's battery weakens.
• Battery Tamper - the monitoring unit can issue a Battery Tamper Alert Notification if the battery is disconnected.

Fleet Vehicle Management Web Services and Alert Notifications:

• All reports and alerts are accessible through a simple web interface. The latest report from each vehicle is immediately displayed upon login.
• Alert notifications are targeted to specific recipients according to the type of violation. Alert Notifications can be sent in the form of text messages to cell phones, and/or as email messages.
• The web interface allows you to manage your fleet. You can specify Authorized Users, target the Alert Notifications to specific recipients, define report intervals, and more.
• A History Log tracks and displays all communications to and from each vehicle.
