Taxi SilverStar is a location (GPS) based, integrated Taxi Dispatch and Vehicle
Location system operating over a public mobile phone (GPRS) network. With the installation
of a SilverStar Mainframe SilverStar device, MDT, Taxi Meter in each taxi and the
Smart Taxi booking/dispatch software on your base computer (with internet access),
a taxi fleet has everything necessary to run a successful, efficient operation.
By using the mobile phone networks.
At the call-centre, customer details and preferences are entered into the user-friendly
booking form and SilverStar takes care of the rest. Jobs are automatically dispatched
over the public mobile network to the most suitable car and displayed on the driver’s
communication handset or terminal. The selection of a car is automatic, based on
location, queue position, type of vehicle and company rules.
Smart Taxi bookings can be made
- by phone at your call centre
- via the internet, and
- via a text message from a mobile phone.
You can use any computer with internet access and the Smart Taxi software to enter
a job in the Taxi SilverStar system.
System Features
- Jobs are allocated to taxis manually or automatically
as soon as vehicles become available. This reduces turn-around time and removes
the need to return to a rank.
- Job allocation depends on the position of each taxi, resulting in
reduced pick-up times for customers, a decrease in dead kilometers and
less car wear and tear.
- All communication is digital and silent, thus protecting privacy.
- The driver communication terminal is very easy to use, and requires very little
input, reducing OH&S issues.
- Taxis are tracked in real-time and displayed
on a map.
- The dispatch software provides detailed reports on taxi activity and customers.
- Meter on/off status is reported back to base in real-time. Cars become eligible
for another job as soon as the meter is switched off.
- Communicates in real-time with server of Smart Taxi systems to manage trip logs
and report real-time financial information.
- SMS (mobile phone text messaging) booking.
- Web booking allows approved users to make and
modify their own taxi bookings and check on the status of their booking.
- Integration with PABX systems, including caller ID.
- Management of account customers, including the production of tax invoices.
